Fecske fehér 2019
‘When we decided to make two ››basic blends‹‹, we already had the working title Swallow. There is a parallel to Peacock, too but a migrant bird is in itself a powerful symbol, it has a positive meaning. The label The Charm and the Flight was created by the British book illustrator Jackie Morris. There was a similar pasture and meadow with flowers and animals here a hundred years ago, not only grapes and monoculture. We are trying to restore these meadows on a small scale on a couple of hectares’, says Dániel Konyári. The blend of the vineyard is a well balanced blend of Zenit, Welschriesling, Chardonnay, Grüner Veltniler and Semillon, grown on fertile soil. It is clean, crisp and fresh.

Sigillum Loliense-fehér 2019
“The two Lolienses provide the backbone of our selection. They have been made the same way since the first vintages. In the case of the white Loliense, we blend it the same way as we did 16-17 years ago during the first vintage. The larger part, almost 40% of it, is always given by the Sauvignon Blanc, the rest is Chardonnay and Olaszrizling in equal proportions. The harvest period is getting shorter – we harvest these three varieties within 1 or 2 days, sometimes the Chardonnay and the Olaszrizling even ferments together. Ever since the first vintage, we’ve fermented it reductively in tanks, it’s never had any barrel components in it. When the three varieties have fermented, we blend them as new wines, then it ages on fine lees.” – Dániel Konyári. The 2019 white Loliense is one of Dani’s best wines. There is everything in it that we like. It’s a smooth wine with subtle acidity that is about fruits and good flavours.

Rosé 2019
The classic Rosé of the cellar from Kishegy, grown mainly on loess soil and from French clones. Blue Frankish joins the Bordeaux wine varieties, fermented at cold temperature in containers after a short maceration aged on its lees for a short time. As each wine of the cellar Rosé is also crystal clear, expressive, with flavours of raspberry and red currants, with a little bit of acidity and long lasting taste.

Fecske vörös 2018
Kékfrankos and Merlot from a September harvest, fermented in tanks and aged in 2- to 3- year-old 225-litre Trust barrels. It’s very harmonious with nothing sharp, or any detail sticking out in the structure, with a long and easy to grasp yet sufficiently layered palate.

Cabernet-Syrah 2018
Dani Konyári’s medium bodied red wine created from two Cabernet varieties with just a little Syrah is a wine to relax. Its colour is youthful, purplish, full of life, with the first fruits of the season in the nose and a light structure. The wine and its content are just right with light fruity notes, a touch of wood and rounded flavour

Jánoshegyi Kékfrankos 2017
A beautiful, aged full-bodied Kékfrankos, an important variety, from an important vineyard," says Dani Konyári. From a small-bunched German clone that yields concentrated wines, the grafts of which Dani brought up to the hill in 2003. One-quarter of it was aged in new barrels, the larger part in used 500-litre barrels for 12 months. "The János-hegy is a plot with more clay than all our other locations, it was obvious that it calls for a Burgundy-originating variety."

Loliense vörös 2017
It’s the wine of such a nice vintage, one in which the Páva and the Sessio were also born. The blend of three Bordeaux varieties from the hills around the winery, overlooking Lake Balaton, from the higher spots of the Kishegy and the Öreghegy.
Its fruitiness is further enhanced the dominance of Merlot, and its spiciness is intensified by the half-part new, half-part second- and third-fill Hungarian oak barrels that it was aged in for 13 months. It’s a young wine with great substance, New World flavours, and intense tannins owing to its youthful age.

Páva 2017
One of our favourite wines, Páva is only made in exceptional vintages. “There’s not much novelty about it, we’ve been making it the same way since 2009,” says Dani Konyári. The majority of the ideally situated, steep plots have old vines, the smaller part is a young plantation with a French graft that yields very little. The destemmed berries of the selected bunches are put into tanks, where the wine is fermented on the skins for four weeks. At the end of October, 70% of the new wine was put into new barrels, while 30% of it was put into second-fill Hungarian oak for 14 months of ageing. The Sauvignon base is complemented with spicy, red peppery notes, via a bit of Cab Franc. It’s already deep and layered, full of energy and healthy, with pure flavours. Ripe fruit, confident winemaking, good proportions

Madonna 2012
The Konyári’s top wine is a Kishegy Merlot selection from the hot and dry 2012. A deep yet youthful colour with a purple rim, cool aromas, liquorice, eucalyptus and wax. Nice, full, dense palate with youthful tannins and long red and black fruits on the finish
